Building a High Performing European Leadership Team

The challenge was to build a cohesive and collaborative team formed of 12 senior IT executives from eight different countries.  We were to explore both team and individual values and identify the appropriate development needed to introduce new collaborative behaviours that would overcome the current challenges and to achieve the required business goals.

The business outcome was to successfully implement an SAP programme across Europe and to influence their local teams and get their buy in.

As a result of our work together, the team:

  • Had a clearer understanding of their common purpose, and bought into the common strategy
  • Reached agreement to challenge and encourage each other in a respectful way
  • Held each other accountable and responsible
  • Used individual strengths to support each other and the team
  • Learnt from each other
  • Set up a Mentoring and Buddy system
  • Agreed an appropriate meeting structure and composition
  • Delivered the project on time and on budget.

Creating a shared vision

The board of a small medical firm had lost sight of their longer-term goals and the Directors were in conflict about their strategy and the long/short term goals, and this was creating stress and affecting performance.  We worked with one of the directors to help her communicate effectively with her fellow directors and develop a common vision and an agreed strategy.
